Bye bye equinox

Strangest day- our flight isn't until 10pm so we bought an extended stay thing to stay on board until 3 rather than leave at 10am and have to stick stinky Rome airport!! Everyone but a few left the ship and we had the place to ourselves for a couple of hours.we sat in a double bed thingo with a cover and sat in the spa and in the sun. Now the next lot of passengers are here- they are off to Istanbul- lucky buggers!!! We have the pleasure of 26 hours with emirates. God help us!!! Wish we were home without the plane trip!! Next cruise definitely from Australia!!!

Pompeii

Unbelievable!!! Can't even explain it- just fecking brill!!! Mrs brown moment!!!
And then- goodbye stinky Naples - there will be trouble because normally they take the Malta flag down before we go- but tonight the jamaican help were slack!!! Nice photo though!!
And one of Vesuvius - awesome- apparently used to be one big mountain and then the top blew off and goodbye Pompeii!!! Yet another excellent day chums!!!! All packed up and ready for home- Rome again tomorrow- we have paid to stay on board till 3 pm but no Internet after tonight- so next post will be from the plane!!! I know you'll miss it!!! Lol!! Da- that means laugh out loud!!!

Naples

Had the best birthday- dinner was just brilliant at the Tuscan grill at the very back of the ship with wonderful views- and we sailed through the straits of Messina as the sun set- just beautiful. Then we had singing waiters in Italian and birthday cake. It was brilliant!!
Today's view from the balcony is Naples. We went for a walk- for about half an hour- Naples is officially filthiest than Rome. Sorry to anyone reading who may be from Naples but seriously- invest in a street sweeper!! It was bad. It was also closed- probs cos it's Sunday- so we are back on the ship and go to Pompeii on a tour this afternoon. Donkey didn't like it either!!!

Donkeys adventures

Donkey has had a lovely day so far- he has had canoli for lunch and been to the spa for a massage and facial.
The one with the view was donkey chilling in the spa which is right at the bow on deck 14 - we are following 2 other ships but they are a bit hard to see. Other than that- the sea has calmed a lot- there was a queue of people in the spa waiting for aromatherapy treatments for sea sickness!!! Lightweights!!! Now it's happy birthday time!!!

Happy birthday to me!!
Here is today's photo from the balcony- nothing!!!! We are 360 nautical miles from Naples- according to captain Michael!! It's blowing a freaking gale and is very difficult to walk- the poms are still lying by the pool though- getting blown away!!
Will post more later after it calms down and we go through the straits of Messina. I'm off to the spa soon for a rub down!!!!

Birthday eve.

Very windy tonight - and unnervingly a string quartet are playing in one of our favourite bars. If they start playing " nearer my god to thee" I'm outa here!!!! They are very good though- but I'm sure they were on the titanic too!!
And if my husband mentions the word azipod again I shall scream. I really don't care what engines are on here and how they work- as long as they work and we keep upright until Naples I'm all good.
Santorini ended badly for me because there are donkeys that take people up and down the steep road from the shore to the village. There were so many of them and they were out in the hot sun. Not right at all.
Still it's birthday eve and we had a lovely dinner and tomorrow will be a big day!!!

Title has no bearing on the post, but I've been waiting to use this all week!!
Should really have been titled the lost city of Atlantis cos according to legend its here!!!
That's the other view from the cafe. And the other cruise ships here today. Ours is the biggest!!!
Tomorrow we head for Naples- we've booked a tour to Pompeii on Sunday which should be good- more roman ruins lol. Big day tomorrow at sea- and another formal night hehe.

Free wifi again- terrible view from the cafe!!!
The island is really beautiful and we took a tour, with wine at 10am. Hic!!!
Now waiting to get the cable car back down and then a tender back to the ship. At sea all day tomorrow- it'll be nice to get a rest!!!!

The Greek island of Mykonos

Yet another Mykonos post!!! Have had several little Britain moments today- and everything they said is true..... You would never be the only one on this island!!!
Then we came back to the boat and wandered through the restaurant at about 4 pm. Yet another first!! We didn't stop!!! But there were the fat fighters slopping into pizza garlic bread and ice cream- as a wee starter before dinner!!! No joke- you could eat 24/7 on this ship- and it appears some do!!! The sights you see around the pool confirm this!!!! Sushi starts at 530!!! We might have to be "new membaaas" when we get home!!!
BTW- since chris fell down the acropolis-(a long story which i didnt think i was allowed to tell- but he wants to share lol) we have seen 2 people in wheelchairs with recent limb injuries!! Am happy to report rammy is ok but still has bruise on back, and camera lens still fecked!!
That wasnt a nice experience- but in hindsight i wish id had the camera at the ready!!! Lol!!!
And in other news- here is our new prefered drinking venue!!

Blindness

After rammy lost his eyesight at Elia beach and got 2 black eyes for looking, we are now back at the ship. No free wifi today!!! It's still very hot but very breezy. Mykonos is a strange place- stone walls, white houses and goats and donkeys!!! And now a few photos!! I hope these are coming out ok- we haven't read or checked the blog on the computer for days cos its just top hard!!

Mykonos

Well made it to Mykonos, Greece, beach day and loving it. Although it is 34 deg the Mediterranean has lived up to its reputation of being very cold but also very beautiful. We are at Elia beach just a 25 min ride from the harbour. Very rocky and dry, and only goats, donkeys, dogs and people live here by the look of things.
Now for the guys there is another thing although very European apparently we should introduce to AUST as soon as possible. This is, women lose part of their swimmers as soon as their feet hit this sand.

Rhodes

Rhodes is very pretty- all medieval with fortified walls and houses- and shops!!!!

Still haven't felt the ship moving despite the wind- and no sign of stabilizers though I'm sure captain micheal somethingadopolos (can't remember it but it's Greek) has been using them!!
